The EURAXESS service center supports you for:

• The Hosting Agreement

It is necessary to obtain a scientific researcher visa. Once completed by the host laboratory, it must be sent to the EURAXESS service center to be signed by the President of the University of Poitiers and the Préfecture (Governmental Office).

Warning: PhD students who do not have an employment contract or a doctoral contract must apply for a student visa.

• The long-stay visa is valid as a residence permit– Student VLSTS
  – “Passeport Talent” Research Visa

• The renewal of residence permits

The researcher can go directly to the EURAXESS service center to obtain assistance in making his or her application.

To facilitate the processing of applications, the EURAXESS service center at the University of Poitiers maintains privileged links with the OFII and Poitiers Préfecture.

The EURAXESS service center can provide you accommodation in a residence entirely allocated to international researchers (Beau Site), at the CROUS or with private landlords.

The EURAXESS service center can assist you in your efforts to:

• benefit from French as a foreign language courses
• the schooling of children from kindergarten to high school
• daily life: opening a bank account, health coverage, Caisse d’Allocations Familliales (housing assitance), taxes like income tax, urban transport, driving licences, etc.
• tourism, culture: discover the city of Poitiers, the Poitou Charentes region.

FnAK (the Alfred Kastler Foundation), partner of the EURAXESS network: facilitates the mobility of international researchers to France and offers a guest researcher card that allows them to benefit from various services, negotiated rates and a wealth of practical information. This card is free of charge and validated by the EURAXESS Poitou-Charentes center.

The EURAXESS portal can provide international researchers and host laboratories with a wide range of information on:

• scientific employment, consultation or submission of job offers, submission of CVs through EURAXESS jobs.
• the European Charter with the rights and duties of researchers and the code of conduct for the recruitment of researchers on EURAXESS Rights.
• online services to maintain contacts between international researchers as well as information on career opportunities in the United States, India, China and Japan and Europe on EURAXESS Links.
