The President of the University of Poitiers, a civic-minded university open to the world, and her team, reiterate their desire to welcome all students equally.

As part of its strategic orientations, the University of Poitiers is particularly keen to pursue a policy of international cooperation and outreach that also promotes inclusion.

This is why, for the 2025-2026 academic year, foreign students subject to differentiated registration fees, in accordance with article 8 of the decree of April 19, 2019 relating to registration fees in public higher education establishments under the authority of the minister responsible for higher education, will benefit from a partial exemption at the University of Poitiers. See deliberation of the Board of Directors of the University of Poitiers of 20/09/2024.

This partial exemption will enable them to pay an amount of fees equal to that paid by European students, up to a limit of 10% of registered students, not including the persons mentioned in article R. 719-49 of the Education Code”.

All students concerned will therefore have to pay the registration fees for European students, as well as the CVEC.

Please note that your administrative registration at the University of Poitiers must be finalized before September 26, 2025.

This measure is part of the University of Poitiers’ global policy of international openness, and its staff are mobilized to welcome international students and help them succeed. A warm, personalized welcome is offered via the central services and the various components, through a variety of actions:

  • a welcome at Poitiers near the train station in September ;
  • assistance in finding accommodation, often prior to arrival, in conjunction with CROUS;
  • advice on administrative procedures from SURIEE staff
    but also through meetings with the CROUS, the CAF, the CPAM, the Prefecture of Vienne and the tax authorities;
  • assistance with health care and special attention for students with disabilities;
  • help with migration procedures, particularly with the Préfecture ;
  • a semester-long student mentoring scheme;
  • numerous cultural and integration initiatives in the city, in collaboration with Grand Poitiers and various associations (welcome month, culture card, Color campus, Nuit des Etudiants du Monde, international cafés, festivals, etc.).

In addition, to help international students succeed, FLE courses have been offered to ERASMUS exchange students for several years now, and will be extended to all international students who need them in the 2025-2026 academic year (registration required).
