The University of Poitiers offers all students and staff around 50 different physical and sporting activities on a recreational basis, as part of discovery courses or as open sports activities.

A team of 14 Physical Activity teachers work for the University Sports Activities Service (SUAPS) to ensure the implementation of supervision of activities. The weekly activities take place on the campuses of Poitiers, Niort and Angoulême in the numerous sports facilities.

Sport at the University of Poitiers also includes many intensive courses (golf, skiing, sailing, surfing etc.), Châlons golf course (the only university golf course in Europe), the University Sports Association which allows interested students to discover or extend their activity through competitive sport, with excellent results, a high-level sports commission which ensures the follow-up and support of athletes following a dual project (studies and sport) etc.
