Álvaro Dickson Molinares Valencia, a 4th year Law student at Libre University, will receive the Erasmus+ International credits mobility scholarship for 6 months from Septembre 2016. The scholarship will allow him to get a Masters degree in law at the University of Poitiers, thanks to the double degree agreement between Libre University and Poitiers University.

This selection was made through the European Union Erasmus+ program aiming at promoting the interest for the students to get Masters and PhD studies abroad. Such programs will provide financial support for travel and accommodations.

4 students from Libre University of Cucuta have been granted this scholarship.

One of them is Álvaro Molinares: “The fact of being in the place where Public Law and the Conseil d’État were born significates the biggest opportunity to learn from the principal Public Law’s source, and French academic level is globally recognized as one of the best. Being able to study abroad and then, going back to my country to share what I learned means a lot to me”, comments Molinares, who will have the opportunity to study abroad for the second time.

Libre University believes internationalization is a process which allows cultural exchanges and shares knowledge as well, it is a big chance for students and professors to improve their scientific knowledge.

The Dean of Law, Social and Political Sciences Faculty, Mr. José María Peláez Mejía, affirms that “the university has been incorporating subjects which might improve the curricular development of the institution in order to build new subjects focused on bilingual skills that allow student to get new competences in foreign languages”.

Libre University’s family wishes Álvaro Molinares the best on his new academic step, all throughout his academic career Molinares showed that borders among countries are not an obstacle to knowledge. Currently, he is translating “The Criminal Man” by Cesare Lombroso, and benefits from the support of the Law Faculty and the Center of Research of the University. “It is incredible how someone as young as him is involved in translation and in the scientific study of Law” Mr. Peláez Mejía said.

Libre University invites all students and teachers to get motivated and to participate in the international agreements between Libre University and universities around the world.
