As you know the French government issued the following measures from Monday March 16:

  • All educational institutions (kindergartens, schools, universities) are closed until further notice but will propose some remote/online courses, when possible
  • Student dormitories are closed except for foreign students that have no safe opportunity to return home
  • Public transportation (buses, trains..) is going to be gradually reduced
  • Bars, restaurants and all other accommodation, sport, cultural and other facilities (wellness, hairdresser….) are now closed
  • Shops remaining open are grocery stores, pharmacies, post offices, banks and gas stations.

The following measures at Poitiers University are taken:

  • Courses and other teaching activities programmed in the university premises have been postponed and/or cancelled
  • Other student facilities including libraries, study rooms and sport facilities have been closed
  • Training periods, Cultural activities, field works and trips have been postponed and/or cancelled
  • The Office for International Relations is operational via email and so are the Faculties’ International Offices
  • All the studentshave normally been contacted by their educational supervisors to take distant/remotecourses

If you must/wish to return home, you MUST inform about your departure to your educational and mobility manager(s) at your home university and at the University of Poitiers. This is absolutely necessary to maintain your security.
