Validating your long term visa (VLSTS)

Students from the European Union and European Economic Area do not require visas.

First entry into France for non Europeans

A registration process must be completed with the OFII (Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration) within 3 months of arrival in France in order to get your visa validated.

The International Relations Office will be happy to help with the paperwork when you arrive in Poitiers.

Once it receives your file, the OFII will invite you to  get your visa validated, thereby becoming a legal residence permit. The day of your appointment you will need to pay a 60 € tax.

This procedure is mandatory. If the registration process is not completed within 3 months of arrival in France, the visa holder will be considered an illegal immigrant.

Please note: Algerian citizens must contact the Prefecture within 3 months of arrival in France. They are not concerned by the long term visa procedure.
